The Monkey Chronicles
The life and times of me, Sydney Lauren Aurora. Edited by my mom to help keep our far flung family up to date on my activities. Mommy originally planned on it being a "Daily dose of Syd" but she is WAY too lazy for that!

Riding High

I love riding on my daddy's shoulders... as a matter of fact it is sometimes the only way these people can get me out of the playground.
Mommy said this is her favorite pictures she has taken in a while... I don't know how she can pick since everytime I turn around she is sticking that camera in my face!

Isn't it Ironic?

1. An injury to underlying tissues or bone in which the skin is not broken, often characterized by ruptured blood vessels and discolorations.
"The baby hit her face and got a bruise on her right cheek. It was very ironic."
The American Heritage Dictionary defines Irony as the following:
1a. The use of words to express something different from and often opposite to their literal meaning. b. An expression or utterance marked by a deliberate contrast between apparent and intended meaning. c. A literary style employing such contrasts for humorous or rhetorical effect. See synonyms at wit1. 2a. Incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs b. An occurrence, result, or circumstance notable for such incongruity. See Usage Note at ironic. 3. Dramatic irony. 4. Socratic irony.
Check out the definition under 2a: Incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs.

Like when your Mom and Dad take you to a furniture store to buy a new coffee table (because the one they are presently using has over 20 sharp corners and they are afraid you will bash your face on it) and while at said furniture store you fall and bash your face on a coffee table.

I was walking through the park one day...

... in the very merry month of May.... No wait, mommy and daddy say it is September! Well, even if we don't have the whole summer ahead of us, at least the sun is out and the weather is fine!
Today we took a family trip to the playground... Mommy and I have decided to keep you coming back for more, so for now, here are some pics of me walking to the playground with daddy... More fun to come!!

A case of the Mondays

Like many people I REALLY hate mornings. I am not really all that crabby about my dislike of them. I am just sad about having to get up before I am ready. And when I say sad, I mean really sad.
Part of why I am sad is that they are trying to wean me off of my morning bottle. Apparently the doctor is trying to feed them some line that the bottle is bad for my seven teeth, which I heard are going to fall out anyway!!! So I am supposed to be completely off of the bottle by my next check-up. Mommy, being the over-achiever that she is, really wants to make this happen. I am resisting however by acting REALLY sad about it. Mommy is weak against the incredible powers of my small head shaking no at the cup they try and offer me, and hearing my sweet voice whisper, "Baba??"
Don't get me wrong... I like cups. They are perfectly good for things like juice and water. Milk, however, belongs in a Baba. Anyone out there want to back me up on this one??

Suzie

To quote my Nano, poor Suzie looks like her face was on fire and someone tried to put it out with an icepick. She fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. She also got hit by the ugly bus and mauled by the ugly bear.
BUT...
I LOVE her. (and so does mommy!)
